Many members of your church congregation will be parents or grandparents of pupils at local schools. Naturally, many of them will already be actively involved in their children’s school in support of the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) or School Friends' Association etc.
Churches can encourage them in their involvement. There are all sorts of resulting opportunities to get involved in the life of the school by helping out with activities for the pupils, at school fetes, with drama productions and school trips or running the second-hand uniform stall.
Those active parents can then draw on other people in the church to further support the school community either by working alongside the parents in the PTA, or as supporters for the events laid on by them. It's a great way of building relationships between the school and the church.
