When you invite members of churches or other faith communities into your school to contribute to lessons or collective worship, you may need to conduct some basic checks and give them advice to prepare them to work with pupils.
Your school will gain maximum benefit from such volunteers if they are clear about your expectations of them and exactly what you want them to do.
Sometimes, church volunteers take time out of their own work situation in order to support your school; a sacrifice which they have willingly made, but which your school needs to respect. A simple ‘thank you’ from the school to the volunteer is always appreciated!
