The school religious education curriculum includes teaching about Christian festivals and practices. If your church has built a relationship with a local school, special services and events provide an opportunity for you to invite school groups to visit the ‘church in action’. This will enable pupils to see what goes on and experience how Christians celebrate particular festivals and beliefs.
You would need to consult with teachers about what is appropriate for the age of the pupils concerned before issuing the invitation. And you may want to ensure, if they accept the invitation, that the service is good and well prepared, with plenty of explanation for the visitors.

They may need help understanding how they should behave. Be aware that church practices and services may seem quite alien to pupils.
Particularly relevant services which link with things that pupils will be taught are:
Involving pupils in a special service through music, drama, readings and prayers is another possibility. Often schools have choirs or music groups that will only be too willing to contribute to suitable church services. Where the school/church is situated in an area with a diverse cultural mix this creates a wonderful opening for an inspirational occasion and opportunities for working with the wider community.
