Once you have established a link with a local church, remember to include the church in invitations to events at the school. That is a very effective way of gaining their interest in what happens in the school and strengthens the partnership. Most churches have a weekly notice sheet or website, so you can advertise a forthcoming event that way. Invitations to plays, concerts, carol services and school fetes are all possibilities. But you could widen the invitation to include visitors to special assemblies with parents or even to evenings when you invite parents into school to learn more about, for example, maths, English or computing.
